Pragmatism

In order to make art,
One must periodically stop
And confront the very real possibility
That what you are trying to do
Makes absolutely no difference.
That you're doing nothing at all.

Then accept this likelihood,
But reassert that it will all
Be worthwhile if even one
Soul is touched.

Then pray to find one
Before you are forgotten.
