A Point in which Joy Becomes Pain (6-4/07)

Like drowning in laughter
until tears make their way
----from duct to mouth
----from mouth to lung

Like the exquisite falling of flight
wind caressing feathers
----Waking from dreams of bird-being
----But not from the sky

Like the dazzling copper-spark hair
curling around your head
----turning your face
----to catch some distant eye.
